After weeks of updates, developments, and preparation, the 2021 Olympia has finally STARTED. The competitions in Orlando, Fl have started with the Friday Morning Pre-judging session on Oct. 8, 2021.
The pre-judging round is crucial for the competitors because those that place higher can carry the momentum in the Finals.
212 Olympia
We believe that a lot of fans are waiting to see this one. These 20 men aren’t as big as the Open division competitors, but the intensity and competition levels are second to none. The 212 division is obviously different this year because of the sudden passing of George Peterson, who placed third at the 2020 Olympia 212 on his debut after converting from the classic.
212 Olympia 2021 Contestant List
Here is the list of qualified athletes who will go head to head for the world’s best bodybuilder (under 212lbs) title:
- Shaun Clarida (USA)
- Kamal Elgargni (Libya)
- George Peterson (USA)
- Derek Lunsford (USA)
- Ahmad Ashkanani (Kuwait)
- Angel Calderon Frias (Spain)
- Noel Adame (USA)
- Kerrith Banjo (USA)
- Piotr Borecki (Poland)
- Tonio Burton (USA)
- Lucas Coelho (Brazil)
- Pasquale D’Angelo (Italy)

- Nathan Epler (USA)
- Vladimir Iacovlev (Moldova)
- Junho Kim (South Korea)
- Keone Pearson (USA)
- John Jewett (USA)
- Steve Benthin (Germany)
- Naser Mohammed (Kuwait)
The favorites going into pre-judging were the defending Champion Shaun Clarida and the 2019 Olympia winner Kamal Elgargni. However, Derek Lunsford surprised everyone and came in the best shape of his life. Every callout was intense, and the judges worked all the men hard to give them their chance to shine. Clarida, Elgargni, and Lunsford appear to be the top three by the end of this showdown. Each man had an opportunity to stand in the center for comparison. This one is a three-way toss-up.
