Starting your fitness journey can be difficult sometimes especially when you don’t have a coach that can guide you all the way through. Doing everything all by yourself is possible but is extremely risky. Following random workouts on the internet may not show the results that you are looking for or might even cause injuries that we don’t want.

As a beginner, it is important for you to learn the basics first before you go deep into the heavy stuff. This will help you build a strong foundation in your journey that will soon lead to success! You need to train not only physically but mentally as well. As you move forward with this lifestyle, everything will make sense for you and I’m sure you will enjoy it.

What You Need to Know to Get Started!

Firstly, you need to know your goal. Why exactly are you trying to do this? What are you trying to achieve?

Knowing the reason why you want to do all this will help you stay on track and will stand as your inspiration to keep going. The thing is, whatever it is you are feeling right now is just temporary and will change consistently every day. If you are feeling motivated, that’s great! Work hard and do your best to keep your fire going. However, you need to always be ready as well for any hard days that you might face.

Think of a day where you feel like you don’t want to do anything and try to visualize the feeling of how it is. Then, write down an action plan like, “What will you do if ever you don’t feel like working out?”, “How will you push yourself to get up and work out?”

Preparing yourself mentally is very important and will contribute big time to your success.

Your Workout Kit

Now, we’re on to the best part!

You know it’s not ideal for you to do random workouts every day. You should plan your week and choose the day when you will do each workout set.

I highly suggest you get yourself a weekly planner so you can be organized. Also, if you log your experience on a planner every day, you can see your progress and can stand as motivation as well so if you can, get yourself a planner and log on it every day!

How your week should look like?

Are you planning on working out maybe 5x a week? This is the most ideal one. You should have at least 2 days of rest a week for recovery.

Choose the day when you will have your rest day. For the days when you will work out, you should plan it like this.

Do your best to never skip a day. Once you have completed your week, you can have your rest day and you know it’s the best feeling ever when you are proud that you finished it and you can reward yourself with a good rest.
